This dog carries more mid-frequency and less-common alleles than most dogs in its breed. That makes it offer a meaningful genetic contribution to the breed, as long as it's robustly healthy and has decent function and temperament. It might have some aesthetic faults that can be improved in the next generation without losing the less common genetics it does carry. All else being equal, this dog is worth keeping in a breeding program. It is best paired with mates of relatively similar OI that are also relatively genetically unrelated. A mate that is of equal or better quality in health and structure, but complementary, will maintain the less common genetics and improve breed type.

This dog has inherited very different genes across its genome from both parents. That tends to mean it is less at risk for expressing known or unknown simple recessive traits, both health traits and coat and color traits. For complex genetic disease risk, look at recent pedigree health information to see if any close relatives expressed a condition like hip dysplasia or an autoimmune disease. Do all health testing required for breeding, and do not eliminate carriers of simple recessive mutations — breed them to dogs who test clear to safeguard puppies from disease while preserving the carrier's other contributions.

OI and IR are genetic diversity metrics intended to inform breeding decisions at the population level. They do not diagnose disease, predict individual health outcomes, or substitute for breed-required health testing or veterinary guidance. Conformation, temperament, longevity, and health history all belong in this decision.

Extremely High drive. Over the top working ability. Not an easy dog to live with because of his intense need to work. Got along well with Bitches but not with other intact males. Never had a problem with him in my house with my other males.

The two moments breeders have influence on their breed's future are when choosing a mate, and choosing a keeper puppy. Both deserve full genetic information.
