Standard American Eskimo test breeding

American Eskimo Dogs recently received their preliminary genetic diversity report from UC Davis. In it, it was found that the Standard American Eskimo size variety has higher levels of inbreeding and a genetic bottleneck as compared to the smaller varieties of Toys and Minis. In the following video, we go through using BetterBred’s tools to analyze a potential test breeding between two Standard American Eskimo dogs. We demonstrate use of our tools to predict a litter as well as how to understand what it means. Remember, these are new terms, so if you aren’t sure what everything means after watching this video, know you are not alone! It can take time to process and learn what all the new terminology means.

Additionally, please take our introductory course on how to use these tools in breed management!
